What do you do when you read? Some people eat chocolate or drink wine while others find a corner to curl up in. What do you do? I like to remove myself from people. I go into my room shut the door, turn the tv off, and veg out with a book. So when that book sucks I get extremely angry. How about you?

i sit on the toilet throne with a book
or i read in my room before i sleep if it’s getting good. or i read when i’m eating my lunch / dinner / snack. sometimes i even read a bit in front of the computer while waiting for it to load. whatever that strikes my fancy really.

Like Sulz I read on the throne, in the car, outside, on the couch. I don’t need specific place or thing to read, I just read, period. It drives my family insane, because I even take books with me when we eat out. I can’t stand just sitting idle with nothing to do.

I have one of those supportive armchair/backrest/pillow things, and I make a nice giant cup of green tea, and lie on the bed. Sometimes I put classical music on in the background at a very low volume, but not usually. Other times, I prefer sitting on the floor with my back propped straight up against the wall, with my feet propped up on a low-resting chair.
But in all cases, I must have the door closed; otherwise, any visual stimuli will throw me off track, and I’ll wind up reading passages again and again ;(
