Can you believe it?

Can you believe that Heroes is almost over for the season? I’m dying to know what is going to happen next week. Any guesses? Well, I have a love/hate relationship with series television. When I find a show that I really get into (like General Hospital when I was a teenager) I can’t stand time away. This is similar to how I feel when Feehan gives me a little taste of her next book then makes me wait for it. It’s not anticipation, it is irritation.

Back to Heroes, now we know that Claire’s dad has known for awhile about her miraculous ability to hear herself. We know that Sylar is a complete freak. What we don’t know is the season finaly. Do you hear my screams of agony? Do you feel my pain? How can they not know that I was not meant to wait for entertainment? Well, I guess I’ll get back to that little anatomy test I have tomorrow…Why, oh why can’t it be Gray’s Anatomy?

  • I like the show, but last night I was half watching and half writing and missed some important things, I think. Syler in particular. I did catch all of Hero’s story– he’s adorable.

Did they say the season is almost over? What happened to shows ending in spring????

  • relliott4- Yep, last night they said one more episode left in the season and that somebody was going to die. Sad, huh? *sniff sniff*

  • relliott4 there’s just one more eppy this year, meaning next week there will be a hiatus until January…at least I think that’s what they mean. My family is totally into this show and we have floated so many theories, you wouldn’t believe!

  • I KNOW! But only it’s a three week wait, eh? But seriously, Hubby and I are anxiously awaiting Monday’s episode…

  • Chaotic Mom- Three weeks is a lifetime when you’re stuck at home with the kids (they’re on Christmas vacation) and have no tv shows to hide behind.

  • I can do three weeks. Most of the shows are pulling this break thing around Christmas. Wonder if Medium will since it started so late.

  • I like Heroes because as the story line has progressed they have introduced characters that you did not know had powers. The show has a complex cast that is all becoming connected in one way or another. There is a blog about Heroes at http://blog.nbc.com/hiro_blog/

  • I think they should’ve kept us in a little more mystery about Sylar.

Were any of you disappointed as to his identity, once it was revealed? I can understand the move: you need to know who the villain is; or do you?

Consider Lost, in which the villains are ostensibly “The Others,” but whom keep asserting that “we’re the good guys.”

In screenwriting terms, Heroes employs an “ensemble cast”–as does Lost–and both shows are doing well at keeping us concerned with and knowledgeable about such a large cast. As you mentioned, I do love how they’re introducing other characters with powers: it makes an atmosphere of expectancy; we’re wondering which new character with what new skill will pop up.

Not to keep comparing Heroes to Lost and vice-versa, but I think it’s great that this is on network TV, and doing so well. I remember a long time ago when The Flash was on network TV, and although it was a blast to watch–at least for me–it failed miserably. With the success of Heroes, who knows what other shows NBC and the other networks will introduce?

  • Oh my god. I am so glad they didn’t kill Hiro. I would have been PISSED!

  • I know. Sylar surprised me and made me curious about who he had killed. I want to know what abilities he has. Then there’s the Haitian. I love his voice. I cant’ wait til the next season begins.
