I went to see The Fountain yesterday. All I knew from the previews was the line “We will be together”. So, I went to the movie expecting a love story and what I received was a lesson in Buddhism. The Fountain is an intellectual movie. I thought about it most of the night and am still undecided as to if I liked the movie or not. My friend hated the movie. She wanted a feel good movie and what she got was a movie abut reincarnation, the circle of life, and philosophy. In other words, a movie that made her think. I don’t know enough about Buddhism to link a direct line of thinking to the movie but there are several idols strategically located in the film. One of the positions that the character takes is a Buddhist-like position.
I’ve been writing sporadically lately. I’ve had the unfortunate luck to catch the cold of the century. I’ve got drainage out the yin-yang and feel like crap. Hopefully it will get better today so I can get back to writing everyday. Thanks for putting up with me.

Interesting. I like fantasy movies that make me think
I was going to wait until it came out on DVD but maybe not

I will be watching for this movie on DVD. I’m intrigued by the synopsis I read as well as your comments. I’ll let you know how this fits with Buddhist beliefs.
