I’m a sucker for a freebie. So when I saw that Kroger’s had a bag making contest where you make a bag and your Kroger’s card is credited the price of a reusable bag, I joined it. That’s what I made.

I guess there’s a bigger contest taking place, too. Really I just don’t want to go out with four votes.

Sue did this to me. Since I can’t say I’ve never done it to her, I’m going to do this as quickly and painlessly as possible.

1. I love being by myself. Some people need other people to be happy, not me. Sweet silence is what I love.

2. Like Sue, I’m addicted to General Hospital. I watch it everyday. I yell at the tv and cry with the characters. All I need is a ratty pink bathrobe and a pair of fuzzy slippers, and I could be the new poster girl for soap addicts are us.

3. I check my email all the time. If I go more than four hours without checking it, somethings wrong or  I have no access.

4. I want to go to Scotland one day all by myself. I don’t care that I know absolutely no one or that I’ve never flown before. I want to go. 

5. I love my hair strait, but I’m to lazy to straiten it every day.

6. My favorite color is black. 

7. I could not imagine living without books. I wouldn’t want to live without them.

Tia from Fantasy Debut tagged me to do this meme about where I was 10, 20 and 30 years ago. I’m not into tagging, so I welcome all who want to do this to go for it.

10 years ago I was running around town like a wild child. I had no kids and hangin’ pals out the ass. I went to work and then went out drinking or partying with friends. I was going to IU part-time and learning to cope with the end of a four year relationship.

20 years ago I was living with a poor self image. I constantly thought about how much I weighed and read nonstop. I lived at the library and walked to the corner drug store for candy with friends. My mom announced she was having a baby and that I’d no longer be the baby of the family.

30 years ago I was less than a month old. I pooped and peed myself a lot.

Damn, I’m pretty smart. Well, I feel like I am right about now. This is better than my choose your own romance book idea. Remember those murder mystery dinners? (You have dinner while solving a muder case.) What about dinner and a romance novel? There are two ways off the top of my head that these can be hosted.

If you’re a book club you pick a book (Duh!) and after you’ve read it you pick a theme for dinner. Everyone brings a dish based on an idea from the book. It can be food mentioned in the book or food based on an idea from the book. For ex. a man is in prison. A guest to the dinner could bring this, taken from the list of approved food for prison inmates or a cake with a man behind bars on it.

Surprise each other. Make sure that you designate different food groups for each member of the club. By distributing the the dinner dishes you cut down on expenses and ensure a good laugh by not knowing what is coming to dinner.

I don’t know if anyone can talk their significant other into participating for the other version of dinner and a romance. The hostess/hostesses sponsoring the dinner pass out invitations telling members of the group who they are. Based on the book for the month, the guests will dress appropriately. They’ll match the written descriptions of their particular character and assume that persona for the night. This version is more like a costume party/book discussion and would work much better if the men actually read the books. If the men did read the book the group could have a discussion about their individual character. The good, bad and the ugly.
