Favorite Lines: “While it was Kade’s cock that thrust deep inside, it wasn’t Kade I could feel. Wasn’t Kade I could smell. It was Quinn. All Quinn.” (214)
Riley is back! This time the dhampire is training to be a Guardian, a job she has reluctantly been pushed into. Determined to stop the attacks against her, she is taking the battle to the head honcho, Deshon Starr. If you haven’t read the two books preceding this you are at a disadvantage. This book picks up where Kissing Sin ended.
The problem is that Starr rarely leaves his estate. Riley and Rhoan must go to his heavily protected grounds. Riley goes in as part of the fighting entertainment for Starr’s men. (Man’s perversity is shown in its glory when the women are told they’ll be fighting naked in mud.)
As usual, all is not what it seems to be. Riley is still trying to figure out what to do with Quinn, while still seeing Kade and Kellen. Her psychic abilities are growing and she is still searching for her mate.
If you haven’t read this series yet, or haven’t bought it yet, you might want to wait until the end of March to do so. The series is great and seems to get better with each book. It’s the type of series that you put down one book and pick up the next in the series. Waiting is torture.
As usual it is important to remind you that this isn’t a romance; it is fantasy. There is no HEA (yet) *fingers crossed* for Riley at this point in time. This is a keeper and a recommended read.
