Weekly library run

21 Jan

I took the girls to the library and found (as usual) there were only three books that interested me and gave them a box of books. Their paperback romance, sci-fi and fantasy sections are pathetic. Sci-fi and fantasy share a section of shelving. One section. Six standard rows. That’s it.

The paperback romance and fiction have a total of four sections of five rows, sad. 😦 The books are usually very old (the library budget was cut in half). I’ve still got a ton of boxes to go through and drop off at the library.

Meanwhile I borrowed:

  • Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse by Victor Gischler (Couldn’t get past the first four chapters.)
  • Charmed & Dangerous by Candace Havers
  • Dead Sexy by Tate Hallaway.

Be sure to specifically request books from the librarian (especially if you can do inter-library loan). With budgets so tight these days, libraries can’t afford to invest in books that may not circulate.

Thus, if they know you’re interested, they know the book won’t collect dust, so they’re more likely to buy it.

Good advice Susan. Thanks. I usually buy my books, it’s easier and I don’t have to pay fines.
