The previous book, Faefever, left us in a horrible place…Mac had been captured by the Unseelie fae princes. These creatures are badass, death-by-sex fae. Looking at them can make your eyes bleed while turning you on. Crazy, huh? Once you’ve had sex with them all you can think about is sexual gratification; it’s called being Pri-ya. So when Mac is rescued, it all falls down to discovering if she can be brought back from Pri-ya.
The obvious answer is yes or else there would be no more books in the series. The method used to do so…well, it’s complicated.
Dreamfever is the hardest book out of the series to read. Why? It is all about taking away a woman’s choice to have or not have sex. It starts with a blatant rape and evolves to unwillingly given orgasms and mindless sex. For anyone to be that helpless is painful to read about. But there is so much more in the book.
Dani, the superfast Sidhe-seer, has a major role in the story. We find out more about Barrons and a little bit of V’lane’s feelings are shown, but a lot of the story is built around finding hope in a devastated city.
I love the story. My favorite lines are the final four sentences in the book, so you can imagine the emotional rollercoaster the story took me on. My biggest concern is how Moning manages to wrap up the story in the next book which will be released in two days. God how did all y’all read this book in 2009 and manage to wait till 2011 to find out what happened. I hope I have hair when this is over.
