Similar Covers: Who Did it Best? 11/5/11

5 Nov

While surfing GoodReads I found the following covers. Their similarity is obvious, but one does it best. Do you agree?

Now this one looks good. The character on the cover looks petrified and I want to know why.

Not bad, but there is nothing about the woman's face that I find interesting. She doesn't look to be scared or in pain.

This one reminds me of the YA book covers from the 80s and early 90s.

I am going to have to ride with J. E Taylor’s Georgia Reign. There is real fear behind those eyes. The forehead is scrunched up too.

the bottom one, Chris Stalyn’s This Time You Lose–The hands are all chubby and bloated-looking (can fingers be bloated?).

Those fingers are def. bloated! The Georgia Reign book has eye appeal. I’m with you. It looks real. One day we’ll learn it was real & the artist was a killer worthy of being on Criminal Minds! lol
