It’s been a while since I’ve posted any type of publisher or author sweepstakes so I looked up Kensington Publishing and compiled a list so you don’t have to. ๐Ÿ™‚

Giveaway Alert!

The contest is closed. Thank you everyone who entered and good luck.

I think it’s about time for another contest. I’ve got a hardback copy of Karen Rose‘s Scream for Me up for grabs. The giveaway is open now until Sunday. To enter just write down the last book you bought and read. Leave your comment here or on my Facebook page.

Special Agent Daniel Vartanian has sworn to find the perpetrator of multiple killings that mimic a 13-year-old murder linked to a collection of photographs that belonged to his brother, Simon, the ruthless serial killer who met his demise in DIE FOR ME. Daniel is certain that someone even more depraved than his brother committed these crimes, and he’s determined to bring the current murderer to justice and solve the mysterious crime from years ago.

With only a handful of images as a lead, Daniel’s search will lead him back through the dark past of his own family, and into the realm of a mind more sinister than he could ever imagine. But his quest will also draw him to Alex Fallon, a beautiful nurse whose troubled past reflects his own. As Daniel becomes attached to Alex, he discovers that she is also the object of the obsessed murderer. Soon, he will not only be racing to discover the identity of this macabre criminal, but also to save the life of the woman he has begun to love.

Dove Part one

2 May

doveWhen I heard that Dove was looking for bloggers to try its newest product, Dove ultimate and visibly smooth deodorant, I jumped at the chance. The other day I received my kit: full size stick of rose scented deodorant, a pamphlet and a shit load of coupons.

I’ve decided that I’m going to experiment with it. I’ve washed and shaved my armpits and just put on the deodorant. I’ll put the deodorant on every day and once a week blog about what is under my arms. If it’s hard stubble, if my skin seems better conditioned and if it is smoother. Once a week I’ll post a small update.

In the meanwhile, if you’d like me to mail you a coupon (it’s a little pamphlet with two $2 off coupons inside) leave a comment and I’ll get with you to find out snail mail info. First come, first served until the coupons are gone.

Kroger’s contest

23 Apr

how-big I’m a sucker for a freebie. So when I saw that Kroger’s had a bag making contest where you make a bag and your Kroger’s card is credited the price of a reusable bag, I joined it. That’s what I made.

I guess there’s a bigger contest taking place, too. Really I just don’t want to go out with four votes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you seen?

17 Mar

Has anyone seen the Blog Book? It is so cool. I’d love to hear from someone who has done it. I think it’d be a great way to preserve your posts and look back at your thoughts years from now, when software has evolved and the ability to see what you’ve done now is gone.

I’ve downloaded the software and am going to play around with it.

Excerpt love

8 Mar

I’m posting a quickie filled with excerpt love.

Vickie Petterson has posted an excerpt from her May 2008 release. Romance Excerpts Only is just that romance excerpts only. Check it out!ย Kerrilyn Sparks has several excerpts posted and Lara Adrian has an excerpt to her March 2008 release. Christina Dodd also has a huge list of books and excerpts available.

Happy hunting reading!

Amazon or B & N?

29 Jul

When you order books online, who do you buy from? I’m not talkin’ ’bout ebooks. I’m talkin’ ’bout paperback and hardback? When I first started buying stuff online I always ordered from B & N, because if you spend $25 or more you get free shipping and they’re usually pretty quick about sending stuff out. (It also helped that I’m a member of Club Mom. You shop online and earn points which are redeemable for gifts/gift cards.)

I joined Barnes & Nobles members club getting an extra 10% off my purchases (I think I paid $25 for it) and it made it all the better. At some point, I began looking at Amazon. The first time it was a fluke. I was ordering clothes for my daughter and decided to check out their book selection. They offer free shipping if you spend $25 too, so I started ordering from them.

I’ve noticed a major difference in shipping. Both are always free. (I’d rather spend $5 more on books than on shipping.) B & N expedites their shipping. They ship in three to five days and that’s standard for their free shipping. I ordered on Thursday and received notice of shipping on Saturday.

The last time I ordered from Amazon it took over a week for me to get my books. Their free shipping is standard not expedited. So, I’m back to ordering from B & N and getting points for it. When I get enough points I’ll trade them in for a $25 B & N gift card.
